The normal spelling rules apply: Rule A applies to the endings -ым and -ыми, so they are spelled -им/-ими after velars and noisy consonants other than ц, e.g. такќм/такќми. Rule B applies to -ом/-ой, so they are spelled -ем/-ей unstressed after noisy consonants, e.g. хорћшем/хорћшей.
As is always the case, endings are spelled with a palatal indicator if the stem ends in a palatalized consonant (e.g. palatalized сќний/сќним vs. plain трџдный/трџдным) or the sound /y/ (e.g. истћрией, истћриями).
Note the use of ё in such cases, namely, end-stressed nouns like словђрь — Inst. Sing. словарём; the same will be true for end-stressed nouns that end in the sound /y/, e.g. статьї — Inst. Sing. статьёй. The rule on the use of ё would apply to ordinary adjectives, too, except that there don't happen to be any end-stressed adjectives with stems ending in a palatalized consonant.
