Past deverbal adverbs are used mostly in written style. They are formed by adding -в to the past stem of a Perfective verb, e.g. сказђв 'having said'. The suffix -вшись is used with -ся verbs. Compare the present deverbal adverb, formed on the present stem of an Imperfective verb:
Pres.: Ћн сидљл за столћм, читђя газљту. He was sitting at the table (while) reading a newspaper.
Past: Прочитђв газљту, ћн ушёл. Having read the newspaper, he left.
Past: Поженќвшись, онќ уљхали на зђпад. Having gotten married, they went west.
