The Accusative Singular endings for a-declension

(1) The form of the Accusative case for a-declension nouns: -у (-ю)

If the Nominative ends in -а, the Accusative ending will be -у.

If the Nominative ends in -я, the Accusative ending will be -ю.

Nominative:	Сђша	Мђша	Пљтя	Ђня	Волћдя
Accusative:	Сђшу	Мђшу	Пљтю	Ђню	Волћдю

(2) The function of the Accusative case: direct object of a verb

Спросќте Мђшу.	Ask Masha.
Спросќте когћ-нибудь.	Ask somebody or other.
Закрћйте кнќгу.	Close the book.
Кђк вђс зовџт?	What's your name? (Lit. 'How do they call you?')
Менї зовџт Сђша.	My name is Sasha. (Lit. 'They call me Sasha.')
