Gennadiy N Lepeshkin: I've already spoken about this in some detail... much was written about the case in Sverdlovsk. A second incident... uh, took place when there was an infection... well, several incidents involved infections that occurred within the laboratory and breaches of safety procedures.
One person jabbed a needle into his own hand, and he subsequently died. The same thing happened with a female lab assistant--it was more or less the same type of work, and that woman passed away, also in Novosibirsk.
But on the whole... monitoring of adherence to the regulations was very strict, and that may be why there were so few incidents.
