Gennadiy N. Lepeshkin: Weapons... Oh, well, weapons are tested on all types of animals.
Interviewer: For example...
Lepeshkin: From my own experience, I know that weapons are tested on mice, piglets, rabbits, on... even on sheep, horses, primates, monkeys, on... all types of animals. Because every animal... every infection is associated with... you know, a certain type of animal. There are what are known as zoonoses, which are infections which breed in both humans and animals... animals.
That's why... natural focal diseases, for example, anthrax, or, for example,
brucellosis--these are diseases which occur in humans... in both animals and humans. Both animals and humans can have the disease. So that's why... work was done with those animals, that's how it's done all over the world.
