The Russian 2203 final exam covers all Lessons in the course, Lessons 1 through 9. The Dialogs that were never assigned as homework are not be included. The exam is in these parts:

Part I: 20 points. Ten Pf. verbs from Lessons 1 - 9 are offered in their infinitive form. Add 1st pers. sg. non-past, 3rd pers. pl non-past, and imperative; and spell the infinitive of the imperfective partner. Do not mark stress.

Part II: 20 points. Translate 10 English sentences into Russian. This part covers the rules in Translation exercises in Lessons 1 - 9. Do not mark stress.

Part III: 20 points. Write four short dialogs between the characters, apppropriate for each of the four suggested scenes. Two scenes are selected from the mini-videos that you have watched in this course and two scenes are from the book or the film. Use words and expressions you learned in this course or any expression that you know to be grammatically and idiomatically correct. Do not mark stress.

Part IV: 10 points. Write a translation of a short Russian passage (less than half-a-page, similar in complexity to the Texts in the book). If you don't know a word, make an educated guess based on the context and grammatical features of the word and sentence.

  • You will not be asked to mark stress. Spell ё as е, as in Russian books for the general public. Pay attention to your use of capital letters.
