The Russian 2203 final exam covers all Lessons in the course, Lessons 1 through 9. The Dialogs that were never assigned as homework are not be included. The exam is in these parts:

Part I: 20 points. Ten Pf. verbs from Lessons 1 - 9 are offered in their infinitive form. Add 1st pers. sg. non-past, 3rd pers. pl non-past, and imperative; and spell the infinitive of the imperfective partner. Do not mark stress.

Part II: 20 points. Translate 10 English sentences into Russian. This part covers the rules in Translation exercises in Lessons 1 - 9. Do not mark stress.

Part III: 20 points. Write four short dialogs between the characters, apppropriate for each of the four suggested scenes. Two scenes are selected from the mini-videos that you have watched in this course and two scenes are from the book or the film. Use words and expressions you learned in this course or any expression that you know to be grammatically and idiomatically correct. Do not mark stress.

Part IV: 10 points. Write a translation of a short Russian passage (less than half-a-page, similar in complexity to the Texts in the book). If you don't know a word, make an educated guess based on the context and grammatical features of the word and sentence.

Starting in the fall of 2022, the exam is administered through Canvas. It is still an in-person, proctored event, but you must bring your computer to the exam and, if you prefer writing Russian sentences on paper, also bring some paper and a phone you can use to convert your paper sheets to PDF files for submission--exactly the way you have done for your written translation homework. If you do not have a functioning computer or phone on the day of the exam, let us know, and we will lend you one. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

• Once you start the exam, there is no way to pause or suspend it.
• As you review your answers before submitting the exam, you may revise and retype them with no penalty for these revisions. No revisions are possible after you submit the exam.
• In Part I, the amount of typing is minimal, as it is in the COLLT self-test quizzes you used this semester. In Part IV, all typing is in English. In Parts II and III, your answers are in Russian. If you are not comfortable typing this amount of Russian text, please write it on a sheet of paper, use your phone to make a PDF of the sheet and submit it using a link in the Canvas window. Also remember to hand the paper copy with your name on it to the proctor before you leave the room. (This is our backup in case something goes wrong with your PDF.) If you do not have a phone, let us know, and we will offer an alternative.
• You will not be asked to mark stress. Spell ё as е, as in Russian books for the general public. Pay attention to your use of capital letters.
