Actant 1: whose temple it is
(a) Genitive
(b) Possessive
Солдат приставил пистолет к виску пленного. The soldier put his pistol to the prisoner's temple.
Её виски были закрыты волосами. Her hair covered her temples.
NB When the word висок functions as a subject and does not have a descriptive modifier, the construction висок у + Genitive is often preferred to (a) and (b), above:
Виски у неё были закрыты волосами. Her hair covered her temples.

Restrictive modifiers

(a) adjectival modifier
левый/правый висок the left/right temple
Левый висок у него был в крови. There was blood on his left temple.
