Actant 1: whose eye it is
(a) Genitive
(b) Possessive
Глаза ребёнка наполнились слезами. The child's eyes filled with tears.
Не могу забыть её грустные глаза. I can't forget her sad eyes.
NB When the word глаз functions as a subject and does not have a descriptive modifier, the construction глаз у + Genitive is often preferred to (a) and (b), above:
Глаза у неё были грустные. Her eyes were sad.
Глаза у Пети сияли от радости. Petya's eyes sparkled with joy.

Restrictive modifiers

(a) adjectival modifier
левый/правый глаз the left/right eye
Левый глаз у него распух и сильно болел. His left eye was swollen and was causing him a lot of pain.
больной глаз the bad eye
тот глаз, который был мне виден the eye that was visible to me
