Actant 1: whose laughter it is
(a) Genitive
(b) Possessive
Хћхот мальчќшек дћлго преслљдовал егћ. The boys' laughter haunted him for a long time.
Пљтя не мћг забІть ќх хћхот. Petya could not forget their laughter.
NB When the word хћхот functions as a subject and does not have a descriptive modifier, the construction хћхот у + Genitive is often preferred to (a) and (b), above:
Хћхот у негћ бІл такћй грћмкий, что Мђша зажђла џши. His laugh was so loud that Masha covered her ears.
