Ћн тђк волновђлся, что у негћ тряслќсь рџки и дрожђл подборћдок. He was so upset that his hands shook and his chin trembled.
NB The synonymous verb трястќсь "to shake" is rarely used with подборћдок; the verb дрожђть is much more common in combination with this noun. This is not the case for the nouns рџки and нћги.
потирђть/потерљть (рукћйi) подборћдокa to stroke one's chin (with one's hand)
NB The above expression is often used to describe a state of indecisiveness or reflection:
Ћн не знђл, кђк реагќровать на іту прћсьбу, и в нерешќтельности потирђл подборћдок. He didn't know how to respond to this request, and stroked his chin uncertainly.
подпирђть/подперљть подборћдокa рукћйi (or кулакћмi) to prop up one's chin with one's hand/fist
Мђльчик подпёр кулачкћм подборћдок и внимђтельно слџшал скђзку. The boy rested his chin on his fist and listened attentively to the story.
